ABOUT ROGERS GROUP

Driven by an entrepreneurial and pioneering mindset, the Rogers Group has actively participated, since its creation in 1899, in the economic development of Mauritius.

We take inspiration from our heritage and the current trends to drive ourselves forward and become a catalyst for Meaningful Change.

Rogers & Co. Ltd is founded by Walter Rogers. Its main activities are Commerce and Shipping.

Death of Walter Rogers and the beginning of a transformation of the group's shareholding with the active participation of the late René Maingard senior, and his two children Sir René junior and Amédée.

Rogers is appointed as the representative for the French, British, South African, and Australian national airlines, namely Air France, BOAC, SAA and Qantas

The Rogers Group actively participates in the creation of Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels.

Air Mauritius is founded. Rogers acts as a catalyst in its opening by gathering the necessary finances and providing the expertise required for the implementation of the project.

  • WEAL, Taylor, and ENL acquire a stake in Rogers & Co Ltd.
  • Acquisition of a majority stake in Compagnie Sucrière of Bel Ombre.

  • Investments are made in new activities, including offshore services and consumer credit solutions.
  • The Company is listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.

  • The Company distributes shares of New Mauritius Hotels Company Limited (trading as Beachcomber Hotels) to its shareholders as dividends.
  • ENL and Taylors groups acquire the shares, held by the WEAL group, in the holding company.

Inauguration of two luxury Heritage hotels and a golf course.

  • Launch of Foresite Property and Ascencia, a listed property fund.
  • Launch of Villas Valriche Integrated Resort Scheme, a golf and lifestyle estate with 288 luxury villas.
  • Rogers becomes the first Mauritian company to join the UN Global compact.

  • Rogers Logistics is renamed as Velogic, a complete supply chain solutions provider.
  • Rogers Foundation is incorporated.

  • Acquisition of a majority stake in the Rogers Group by ENL Land and spin-off of the Cim Group.
  • Merger of Cim Insurance with Swan and purchase of ENL's share in Swan.

  • Rogers Group is listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius Sustainability Index (SEMSI).
  • Acquisition of Kross Border Co Ltd operating in the offshore sector.

Rebranding of EIS, Kross Border and Rogers Asset Management into Rogers Capital.

  • Acquisition of ENL Lifestyle, renamed Island Living.
  • Rogers' CEO appointed Chairman of Business Mauritius Sustainability & Inclusive Growth Commission.

  • The Compagnie Sucrière de Bel Ombre becomes Agrïa. 
  • Rogers Group establishes its first Sustainability and Inclusiveness Committee reporting to the Board of Directors.

  • Launch of a sustainability charter for Rogers and Bel Ombre.
  • Rogers adheres to the Signatir pact of Business Mauritius.

  • Veranda Leisure & Hospitality and Island Living become Rogers Hospitality. 
  • Listing of Ascencia on the SEM and Velogic on the DEM.
  • Launch of the 'Now for Tomorrow' initiative offering carbon-neutral stays at Heritage hotels.
  • Re-nomination of the Black River Gorges-Bel Ombre as a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve.

  • Inauguration of the territorial brand 'Bel Ombre. Lamer. Later. Lavi.'
  • A new metro station was integrated into the Phoenix Mall, a mall of Ascencia.
  • Velogic acquired Rongai, a transport company in Kenya.
  • New brand positioning and visual identity for the Rogers Group.

  • Rogers Aviation secured representation for TAAG Angola Airlines, SA Airlink, and Vistara, and acquired Border Air in South Africa.
  • Rogers Capital Fiduciary opens a South Africa office, while Rogers Capital – Technology inaugurates its first Kigali office in Rwanda.
  • Launch of the Finance and Tax Academy, a new service line from Rogers Capital Tax Specialists Ltd.
  • Launch of the Meaningful Roadmap to 2026 of the Rogers Group.
  • Launch of the Ascend Graduate Programme.
  • Inauguration of La Réserve Golf Links, the Indian Ocean's first GEO-certified sustainable Links course.
  • Share price resilience and SEM-10 reintegration.

  • Rogers Group celebrates its 125th anniversary.
  • Velogic expands its footprint in Africa with a new office in Tanzania.
  • Unification of Rogers and ENL groups’ head offices into a common Management Office serving both entities.
  • Rogers Group consolidates its stakes in Agrïa and Case Noyale by acquiring 4.4% and 9.4% of shares, respectively.
