Rogers & Co. Ltd is founded by Walter Rogers. Its main activities are Commerce and Shipping.
The Company develops activities in the import and distribution sectors.
Initially a shipping agent, the Company begins chartering its own ships. The Colonial Steamship Co. Ltd is set up to ensure a regular service between Mauritius and Rodrigues.
Rogers is appointed as the representative for the French, British, South African and Australian national airlines, namely Air France, BOAC, SAA and Qantas. The company creates the hotel sector by setting up Mauritius Hotels Company Limited. Park Hotel opens its doors and two beach hotels are opened as well. A travel agency, Mauritius Tourism Travel Bureau, is also created to assist flight crews and passengers during their stay in Mauritius. Air Mauritius is founded. Rogers acts as a catalyst in its opening by gathering the necessary finances and providing the expertise required for the implementation of the project.
The Company is gradually transformed into a diversified conglomerate. Rogers invests in the import, storage and distribution of cement on the local market as well as in the export of molasses.
Investments are made in new activities, including offshore services and consumer credit solutions. The Company is listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
The activities of the Company are subdivided into six clusters: Aviation and Tourism, Engineering, Food and Consumer Goods, Industrial, Chemical and Pharmaceutical, International and Financial Services, Shipping
The Company distributes shares of New Mauritius Hotels Company Limited (trading as Beachcomber Hotels) to its shareholders as dividends.
With the sale of its engineering unit and part of its food and consumer goods activity, the six clusters are now organised in three autonomous divisions: Leisure and Logistics, Financial Services, Distribution
The autonomous divisions are structured into 3 business entities: Rogers focuses on tourism and logistics, Cim Group operates in international and financial services, Cerena Group specialises in the industrial and distribution sectors.
The launch of Foresite Property is accompanied by the creation of Ascencia, its listed property fund.

Rogers Logistics is renamed as "Velogic", a total supply chain solutions provider.
The Domaine de Bel Ombre brand is born with a unique combination of accommodation, golf and leisure facilities stretching over 2,500 hectares of pristine nature in the South-West of Mauritius.
The Hotels sector changes its name to VLH (Veranda Leisure & Hospitality) with two distinct brands, Veranda Resorts and Heritage Resorts.
Rogers is reorganised into a service-based conglomerate focusing on Aviation, Financial Services, Hospitality, Logistics, Property, Real Estate & Agribusiness and Technology. The listing of Cim on the Official Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius is accompanied by the distribution of dividends in the form of shares held by Rogers in the company.

The “Heritage Bel Ombre” brand was coined following the restructuring of Rogers Group entities on Heritage Le Domaine, formerly known as Domaine de Bel Ombre. The Heritage Bel Ombre umbrella brand embraces all the activities available on the two thousand five hundred hectares domain and aims at creating synergies between the various offerings that range from fine dining to water sports, five-star accommodation or nature walks.
