Ascend Graduate Programme: A Journey to New Horizons

On September 26, 2024, the inaugural class of the Ascend Graduate Programme celebrated their graduation, marking the end of a year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities. Over the past year, 12 promising young talents immersed themselves in Rogers’ five segments, receiving tailored mentorship and career development support that helped shape their professional journeys.

Out of these 12 participants, five have secured positions within the Rogers Group, ready to embark on exciting new adventures within the company.

One such success story is Anthony Kwok Yin Siong Yen, who completed three rotations at Velogic, Rogers Hospitality, and Veranda Resorts during the programme. His dedication and commitment to learning earned him a full-time role as Sustainability Officer at Veranda Resorts.

Anthony’s journey began when, after studying abroad, he returned to Mauritius and stumbled upon the Ascend Graduate Programme on the Rogers website. Reflecting on his experience, he shared:

“Rotating across different segments exposed me to unique business cultures and introduced me to professionals who have taught me invaluable lessons. It was a true learning journey, and I would highly recommend this programme to any young person still figuring out their career path. The support was incredible, and the training sessions were truly insightful.”

Raphaëlle Desvaux De Marigny-Cayeux, Talent Specialist at Rogers and Programme Coordinator, Anthony Kwok Yin Siong Yen, Sustainability Officer at Veranda Resorts, and Mehreen Nohur, Sustainability Manager at Veranda Resorts.

Mehreen Nohur, Sustainability Manager at Veranda Resorts and one of Anthony’s mentors, also praised the experience:

“Anthony brought fresh ideas, a proactive mindset, and solutions to the table. Our relationship felt more like a true collaboration than a traditional mentorship, and he made a lasting positive impact on the team.”

Raphaëlle Desvaux De Marigny-Cayeux, Talent Specialist at Rogers and Programme Coordinator, echoed the sentiment, noting the programme’s success:

“The graduates have gained real insight into Rogers’ culture and values while building valuable experience. The mentors fully embraced their roles, and we are thrilled to announce the second edition of Ascend, which will launch in February 2025.”

As the first edition concludes, the Ascend Graduate Programme continues to be a powerful platform for young professionals, offering exposure to diverse industries within the Rogers Group and unlocking their full potential. For the company, it’s an opportunity to welcome fresh talent eager to contribute and learn.

Looking ahead, the second edition will expand its reach to include sectors from the ENL Group, further broadening opportunities for future Ascenders. The next intake will begin in February 2025, and applications will open soon.

Keep an eye on the Rogers website for updates on how to apply for the next edition of the Ascend Graduate Programme.
