Agroecology - Project Officer (20-Month CDD)

Overview:

In line with Rogers Group sustainability thrust, we aim to integrate biodiversity preservation into our core business strategy. In this context, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Agroecology - Project Officer to join our team. This position is funded through our grant from the 'Fonds Business-Biodiversité Océan Indien', which is part of the @Varuna Biodiversite implemented by Expertise France and financed by the AFD.  

Your role:

Project Management:

  • Design and implement agricultural projects aligned with our corporate sustainability goal

  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely reporting.      

Data Analysis:

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret biodiversity data (Familiarity with GIS tools and data management software is an advantage).

  • Track project progress, assess impact, and prepare reports for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Communication & Training:

  • Develop training programs to raise awareness about agroecology issues within the organisation                    

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • With the support of the legal team of the company and relevant local public authorities, ensure all projects adhere to environmental regulations and best practices

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, agriculture, or related fields.

  • Experience with grant writing, fundraising in this sector and operationalisation of projects.

  • Background in ecological research or fieldwork, promoting sustainable agricultural methods that enhance biodiversity, improve soil health and contribute to environmental sustainability.

  • Experience in project management, particularly in agriculture or environmental conservation.

  • Experience in liaising with stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, and non-profit organizations

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
